Who is Maia?
Maia is a teen that cares about giving back to her community and started Kidz that Care with her family to inspire teens to start giving back at a young age.
1. Interested in Civic Leadership?
Through GenerationNation, students build civic literacy, social capital, and civic leadership from an early age. Programs include Charlotte-Mecklenburg Youth Council, Youth Lead Charlotte-Mecklenburg, “Kids Voting” student election, K-12 civic literacy curriculum, teacher civic leadership development, and other initiatives.

3. Make and Deliver Sandwiches for A Roof Above
Roof Above is a comprehensive homeless service provider that offers a continuum of care to people experiencing homelessness in Mecklenburg County. Volunteers will make and deliver sandwiches for Operation Sandwich.
4. Write Notes of Encouragement to Human Trafficking Survivors for A Fresh Start
A Fresh Start Clt. Inc. is an anti-human trafficking nonprofit that focuses our reach on impacting survivors and their children by helping the family to grow, heal, and thrive together. Volunteers will write letters for the survivor and their children to let them know that people care about them.

Crisis Assistance Ministry provides assistance and advocacy for people in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency. Volunteers will create no-sew fleece blankets for people experiencing homelessness.
